COVER DESIGN FOR FABER FILM SERIES OF BOOKS 

This project was my entry for this year's D&AD Student Awards. The brief was to design the covers of Faber Film series of books which were printed on demand (POD). 

The target audience of Faber Film series consisted of people who knew many things about the art of cinema and film books already. The main challenge was to give this audience a design that they would consider elaborate. 

Instead of focusing on titles of the books, I gave a number to each book in the series and this number is used as the center design element; thus giving Faber Film a very strong series identity. There is also a special ligature for each subseries, and the publishing credits are placed at the bottom of the cover in the style of a movie poster. The title of the book as well as the writer (or editor) is written in black at the credits.

The real title is printed on the corner of the book. The main reason of this unusual decision is to provoke curiosity in the viewer and provide authenticity to the design.
