Identity for a group of musicians who produce Electronic Music. - When I was asked to produce an identity for the group, they already used the name Android Strippers, so my design had to compliment both their name and the genre of music they produce. Because their music is digital, I reflected this in the design, using very structured letterforms and illustrations. The typeface I designed for their identity is based on a very simple grid, of which I also used to draw the Android stripper characters. The use of straight line and sharp angles helped to emphasise the robotic nature of the drawings, and the use of glasses and big lips captured the feminine, sexy element that their name suggests. The simple structure of the illustrations allowed me to produce a range of different characters, yet still remained similar and recognisable as a collection.
