Blue1 wanted to increase their sales by building a new brand platform ’Blue1 Premium’ to help business travelers enjoy their trip, with the advantages of Business Class but without high cost.

A custon typeface Spectre Woodtype was created to build powerful brand recognition and to support Blue1’s overall communication strategy: ’We are not in the airline industry – we are in the enpowerment business!’

The typeface was created with an old letterpress machine and a set of wooden block letters. After printing, the individual letters were digitalized, cleaned, vectorized and modified, to make it a full working font family.
