The Danish Monarchy has existed for over a thousand years and is one of the oldest - a Monarchy that lives by traditions but finds pride in adapting to modern ways of society. With this in mind I developed the font "Margrethe II" - made for the Danish Monarchy with inspiration from both present and past.
The concept behind the font is built on the Danish King law back from 1665 - a milestone within Danish history and an early example of the roman-font and its entering in Denmark. Based on the King law I developed the font "Margrethe II" with inspiration from the printed King law and its different letters. Throughout the process of making "Margrethe II" I have concentrated on speciffic details of the King law-lettering and given the new letters a modernized shape in form of a continuous consequence and a finer detailing.
