TypeCon is an annual conference presented by the non-profit Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA), an international organization dedicated to the promotion, study, and support of typography and related arts.

This year (2011) the typography event bursts free in New Orleans with the theme "surge". One of the reasons why people visit the event is to experience new "things". This experience of typography is core of the identity.

  • TypeCon is an annual conference presented by the non-profit Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA), an international organization dedicated to the promotion, study, and support of typography and related arts.

    This year (2011)  the typography event bursts free in New Orleans with the theme "surge". One of the reasons why people visit the event is to experience new "things". This experience of typography is core of the identity.

    For the event I have designed a unique typeface and logotype based on the theme Surge. I designed the logotype as a three-dimensional object. The object has been produced in different material forms. The experiment is constantly different through the use of various materials and activities around it. The creative process is captured in cinematic teasers and posters. It's possible to conne    ct the posters horizontal or vertical to visualize the continuous change and transitions.
